Projects
Across more than two decades, my projects have followed different stages of technological change. Each period reflects a different relationship between people and emerging technologies from interactive media and virtual environments to intelligent systems embedded in everyday life.
Human Experience in Intelligent Systems (Present)
Through 13Collections (13C), I examine how photography, place, and digital environments can create new ways of experiencing and interpreting the world. Through my field notes on electric vehicle ownership and emerging technologies in China, I document how intelligent products and connected ecosystems are becoming part of daily life.
Although these projects take different forms, they continue the same inquiry that has shaped my practice for more than two decades: understanding how technology influences the way people perceive, create, learn, and adapt.
Digital & Virtual Experiences (2021–Present)
From 2021, my practice expanded into emerging digital environments through collaborations with technology companies and creative communities. Working with organisations such as Nethermind (UK), Spongelii (Canada), and AcademyHAI (New Zealand), I explored new possibilities around digital identity, virtual spaces, creativity, and learning. These experiences included work related to blockchain, metaverse platforms, extended reality (XR), and new forms of digital interaction.
Rather than representing a departure from my earlier practice, these projects continued the same inquiry into how technology creates new ways for people to connect, create, and experience the world.
Foundations of Interactive Technology (1999–2011)
My early practice explored the relationship between people, technology, and physical environments through interactive media, digital installations, and public-facing systems.
During this period, I developed projects in Singapore that brought emerging technologies into everyday spaces, including interactive experiences for Marina Barrage, Singapore Grand Prix, Parliament House, National Library Board, Singapore Discovery Centre, and Collectors Contemporary Fine Art Gallery.
Working across cultural, educational, and public environments, these projects explored how technology could support learning, engagement, and new forms of human experience. Rather than isolated commissions, they reflected a continuing interest in how creativity and technology can shape the way people interact with the world around them.
