Projects

This page showcases selected commercial, creative, and research-driven projects from across Julius Yls’s career. The Early Industry Phase (2003–2011) focused on large-scale interactive installations, digital experiences, and public-facing systems developed for cultural, educational, and government organisations. The Current Phase builds on this foundation through projects exploring creativity, technology, AI, photography, and human experience, reflecting an ongoing interest in how ideas move from research into practice.

Current Areas of Inquiry

Today, Julius’s work centres on two ongoing areas of inquiry. The first is 13Collections (13C), a photographic and research project exploring perception, space, and human experience through monochrome imagery. The second examines the impact of AI and emerging technologies on creativity, education, and professional practice. Together, these projects reflect a long-standing interest in how people learn, create, and adapt within changing technological and cultural landscapes.
